Maybe a colony of Apis Cerana bees had nested in the roof of our old house a few weeks before we noticed. The neighbors helped us pick the first honey and then shared the joy. That was the beginning of our family business in 1980.
That first impression encouraged our uncle to learn to love bees. He participated enthusiastically in various workshops and training, including those of the Forest Service. In 1982, Uncle received a gift from the Government in the form of a colony of Apis Meliferra which has multiplied into hundreds of boxes to date.
Handling bees with the best love, helping to keep nature in the best condition and building the best relationships with fruit farmers, has placed us in a mutualistic symbiosis that combines harmoniously to produce the best quality honey products that are maintained for decades.

Indonesia’s tropical islands have been famous for their natural riches for centuries and today they are still the best ecosystem for thousands of types of flora & fauna. This diversity contributes greatly to the complete nutritional nectar of thousands of types of flowers in comfortable weather in various regions, soil characteristics and land height above sea level.
Most honey bee seekers and keepers have not run their businesses wisely and professionally so that the quantity and quality of honey marketed is inconsistent. This is exacerbated by the reduction in the quantity of Indonesian flora & the high use of chemicals which has an impact on higher honey prices which ultimately opens up opportunities for low quality honey to circulate. Consumption of honey and beekeeping products in Indonesia has become very low. On the other hand, consumer knowledge about honey is also very minimal, so it is easy to believe myths and unscientific opinions.
Bali Honey with its business strategy wants to embrace all parties starting from the government as forestry authority, commodity farmers, experts, stakeholders and honey seekers and bee keepers to corporate business players to produce and market Indonesian bee products with international quality standards that still maintain natural sustainability, at affordable prices so that everyone can supplement their family’s nutrition with quality honey and beekeeping products
As a family company, Bali Honey prioritizes a family approach, paying attention to every detail with love and responsibility.
In this 4th decade we have had 490 bee colonies which we usually divide into 2 or 3 grazing locations under 3 field supervisors. With an average harvest of 1.2 tons of honey per month. A figure that is less progressive for a business, but we have succeeded in developing 4 other beekeepers with exactly the same quality standards as Bali Honey so that the total accumulated harvest can reach 6 – 8 tonnes of honey, 200 kg of bee pollen & 8 liters of propolis per month. We are proud of our partners
The Bali Honey team strives to continue sharing experiences and business values with fellow bee keepers and other forest honey seekers, so that business people can compete and collaborate in healthy and fair trade. Currently Bali Honey & its partners are preparing a honey management project with ISO9001:2015 quality standards
We have bee colonies that exist freely in nature where the majority of flowers grow. At certain periods we harvest in an ethical manner so that the colony population remains maintained and safe.
